“Don’t ever put your happiness in someone else’s hands. They’ll drop it. They’ll drop it every time.” – C.Barzak
Hold your own happiness in your own hands. If you’re unhappy, change it. If you’re unsatisfied, do something about it. Stop wanting things and instead start doing them. Don’t base your life on a person, unless it’s Jesus. Because people mess up 100% of the time. If you have expectations on your own life don’t expect people to meet them for you, meet your own. Be so independent and in love with yourself! I mean that in the most humble way. Don’t get fit for the world, or acceptance. Be fat if it makes you happy, be fit if it makes you happy. Just be the best you for you that you can be!
You are not your mother and you are not your father. You do not have to follow the religion your parents follow, you do not have to work the jobs they work, you do not have to do follow their “traditions,” you do not have to go to the university they went to. If you don’t think you should go to a university, then don’t! This world is filled with so many parents that disapprove of the lifestyles that they’re children are choosing to live. If you feel like you have been forced into a career by your parents, get yourself out of there! It is better to change it now, do what you want to with your own life, and live in complete happiness with the future that you have built for yourself. Do what makes you happy, be you!
This world is scattered with people who will tell you, women, that you have not successfully lived till you are attached to a husband, have a couple children, and you’re able to cook dinner for them every night. They will make you believe that you are not successful unless you drive a soccer moms vehicle and serve your family for the rest of your lives.
This world is also scattered with people who will tell you, men, that you aren’t a success if you’re unable to pay for every meal that gets put on the table, or every bill, and they will ever go as far as to tell you that you are a failure as a man if you cry, are sensitive, or do ‘girly’ things such as not play or watch sports 24/7.
Keep in mind that you are not of this world! Neither you nor I, and the people who conform to this world and want to be of it will try to force their thoughts of what a perfect man or woman should be and how they should conduct themselves. If you want to have pink hair, then have it! If you want to sing one song and eat one meal for the rest of your life, then do it! Our time on this earth is temporary, do what will make you happy!
This post may seem like it could be contradicting my Christian beliefs, but it’s not. I am simply talking to you as an individual, leaving all else aside, but it can apply to the Christian lifestyles as well. If you want to read your bible continuously, do it. If you want to spend all of your time at a church, do it! If you have a passion and someone tells you that you cannot do it, slap them, then do it! This is about you, and being the best you that you can be for you.
I am here to tell you all that I love you, and have complete acceptance of you! If you have people in your life that make you feel like you should be someone other then yourself, ignore them, please. Be full of grace, forgiveness, and good character. Be the best you that you can be for you!
