60 Day New Testament Journey ~ John 5-10

“I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgement is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me. If i alone bear witness about myself, my testimony is not true. There is another who bears witness about me, and I know that the testimony that he bears about me is true.” John 5:30-32

“How can you believe, when you receive glory from one another and do not seek the glory that comes from the only God?” 5:44

John 5-7 seems to have a reoccurring theme, and it is this: Learning how to serve Christ with you whole heart faithfully, and not expecting anything in return. You cannot serve Jesus for two hours then go to the alter with some ‘you owe me’s’, the point of our existence is to bow ourselves down and lift Christ up. People will respond differently to the confidence that you can grow in Jesus, but I find that John 7:16-18 is something that we should all memorize and hold on to when people question our motives and beliefs, and in addition to that we should watch for fake preachers and people with wrong motives by follow those few verses. No crazy public accusing though, just guard your heart šŸ™‚

“My teaching is not mine, but his who sent me. If anyone’s will is to do God’s will, he will know whether the teaching is from God or whether the teaching is on my own authority. The one who speaks on his own authority seeks his own glory; but the one who seeks the glory of him who sent him is true, and in him there is no falsehood.” John 7:16-18

Have confidence in our Father – “I am the good shepherd. I know my own and my own know me, just as the Father knows me and I know the Father; and i lay down my life for the sheep. And I have other sheep that are not of this fold. I must bring them also, and they will listen to my voice. So there will be one flock, one shepherd.” John 10:14-17

That is all for today’s devo! I hope you are doing so well & having a great Wednesday!! Until next time šŸ™‚
